Every SLP follows the same DBE structure, so you know exactly what to expect before you are in front of your learners.
- Core message — the value statement learners remember, written as an "I-message".
- Activities — detailed, practical and time-bound, with teaching methods and assessment.

Curriculum coverage

The SLPs follow the CAPS phases, so content stays age-appropriate and relevant to each grade as learners move from the Intermediate Phase to the FET Phase.
Intermediate Phase
Sexuality Education in Life Skills. Respect for my own body and the bodies of others, emotions, bullying, and the basics of HIV, in age-appropriate language.
Senior Phase
Sexuality Education in Life Orientation. Puberty, sexual consent, power and control in relationships, safer choices and where to find help in the community.
FET Phase
Sexuality Education in Life Orientation. Healthy relationships, informed and responsible decisions, and the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes learners need for life beyond school.

FAQ
Questions educators ask
Are these the official DBE lessons?
Yes. Every lesson is a DBE Scripted Lesson Plan, aligned to CAPS. We present it for the classroom. We do not add content or reinterpret it.
Is this sex education?
No. In the DBE's words, CSE is not sex education and does not sexualise children. Content is scientifically accurate, non-judgmental and age and developmentally appropriate, and it complements the role parents play.
Can I adapt lessons for my class?
Yes. The DBE asks that activities be taught as scripted, but you may use a teaching approach you are comfortable with, as long as it stays participatory and lets learners engage fully. Resources are what you find in any functioning classroom.
Which grades and topics does it cover?
Grades 4 to 12, following the CAPS Life Skills and Life Orientation curricula across the Intermediate, Senior and FET Phases. See the curriculum coverage section above for a breakdown.
Does this cost anything?
Access is arranged through your school. Registering will show you what is available to your account.
Is my learners' information private?
The platform is for lesson preparation, not learner records or assessment marks. We only store the account details needed for you to log in and access lessons.
Is the AI teaching assistant available now?
Not yet. It is in development, and it will be grounded in each lesson's own content when it launches.
